Oxford

On Friday we went to Oxford on Friday, and it was beautiful! The school was built anywhere between the 1400s and 1700s so the architecture was amazing. Great minds like CS Lewis (the Narnia series author) & JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings author) lived and taught here. It was so fun to walk around the town and have history everywhere.
Sorry I'm not sharing much information. If you want to ask me more questions I'll be more than happy to answer, but I just wanted to update this before I left for my week-long field trip. Be prepared for some amazing photographs when I get back! (If you don't know where I'm going yet, ask my mom or me...it's going to be so amazing!!)
Love and miss you all! ♥♥♥

The Eagle and Child, where CS Lewis and JRR Tolkien would meet and discuss their writing and other ideas.

Beautiful stain glass from the Chapel at Magdalen College (which is where CS Lewis taught)
One of the Quads from Magdalen College
The Hall at Magdalen College.
The "New" Building at Magdalen College. New as in built in 1733. Funny that their new building is older than our country! This is the exact building where CS Lewis' office would have been located.

Oxford's version of the Bridge of Sighs, which looks exactly like the Venetian original.
I like taking jumping pictures, if you haven't figured that out yet...
The adorable path we ate lunch at. How beautiful this will be once the leaves change colors!
The active library of Oxford.
A rugby field
The botanical gardens entrance. We didn't go inside because it was going to cost us money.

The 11th-century tower of St. Michael's Church. It is the oldest structure in Oxford, dating from Saxon times.

So cute!
The group. If you can spot me I'll give you a hug when I get home :-)
